StS Erhard Weimann

State Secretary and Plenipotentiary of the Free State of Saxony to the Federal Government

Erhard Weimann, born on 17 April 1954 in Würzburg, studied from 1973 to 1975 at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Kehl am Rhein and holds a degree in administrative management. From 1975 to 1978 he worked in the Regional Council of Karlsruhe and from 1979 to 1983 in the Ministry of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg. Erhard Weimann worked from 1983 to 1990 in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg as parliamentary advisor and personal advisor to the parliamentary group chairman (parliamentary council).
Between 1990 and 1993 Erhard Weimann worked as parliamentary group manager and head of the parliamentary advisory service of the CDU parliamentary group of the Saxon state parliament and in 1993/1994 he was CDU state manager in Baden-Württemberg. From 1994 to 2008, he was again active as parliamentary group manager and head of the parliamentary advisory service of the CDU parliamentary group of the Saxon state parliament.
Since 2004 he has been a member of the Broadcasting Council of the MDR.

In July 2008 Erhard Weimann was appointed State Secretary in the Saxon State Chancellery and at the same time authorised representative of the Free State of Saxony at the Federal Government as well as head of the state representations of the Free State of Saxony in Berlin and Brussels (Saxony Liaison Office). Since October 2009 he has been State Secretary in the Saxon State Chancellery and authorized representative of the Free State of Saxony at the Federal Government as well as Head of the State Representation of the Free State of Saxony in Berlin.
