The MBA in Leadership & Digital Business Transformation is made up of eight modules and the Dissertation.
Module 01
Corporate Strategy & Managerial Economics
This module deals with aspects of business which you need to understand in order to carry out managerial functions: strategic management, organisational theory and change management. In addition to the importance of governance systems, the influence of financial parameters on a company’s or organisation’s scope of action will be discussed.

Module 02
Management of Accounting, Finance, Controlling & Law
Through the lectures, students become familiar with operational areas that sales and organisational developers need to internalise in order to play a decisive role within corporate management: accounting, investment and finance. Students are taught how to use financial controlling instruments with regard to incentive structures and performance measurement.

Module 03
Supply-Chain-Management & Operations
To improve a sales sector’s approach, personnel and organisational development managers must have an understanding of which processes and structures within a company create value and secure competitiveness. This module provides an introduction to the structural parameters of production processes and outlines the targeted utilisation of management tools.

Module 04
Marketing, Sales- & Servicemanagement
The course familiarises with tasks and processes within a corporation that are primarily market- or customer-oriented: product and service management, sales and marketing. The module demonstrates various possibilities of designing an organisation’s service portfolio, geared specifically to its target group.

Communication based Leadership
This module provides an introduction to the tasks, operating methods and principles of communication management. The course concludes with practical exercises which improve your managerial communication skills in different contexts.

Module 06
Competence & Potential based Leadership
Modules 1-5 conclude with the creation of professional job profiles and functions. These are used as frameworks to coordinate managerial tasks in all departmental areas, creating a corporate strategy within the framework of strategic skills management and employee potential analysis. For this purpose, personnel development tools are trialed.

Module 07
Digital Strategy
After completing this module, students will understand the principles and effects of digitalization on business models. Based on an understanding of digital markets and business models, students will be able to identify innovative strategies fields (technology scouting) and integrate these into an organisation. Students learn the necessary tools for digital transformation. These range from new incentive systems in agile organisations all the way to a new understanding of the classical finance department as a technical investment area.

Module 08
Digital Leadership & Transformation
This module focuses on the implementation of the conceptual and strategic topics of the previous module “Digital Strategy”. Participants actively learn which instruments can be implemented into existing organisations in order to work in a more agile and data-driven way. Changing working methods towards a more flexible workplace with collaboration tools is also important in this context. Students learn to think in terms of data-driven organisations and sales models. A new digital leadership style applied across generations is also a focal point of the lecture, including the use of business analytics in marketing, supply chains and HR.

Requirements
The following qualifications are required for the MBA specialisation in Digital Business Transformation and will be checked during the application process:
A degree in a relevant business-related subject (e.g. diploma, Magister, state examination, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree)
- Applicants must have achieved at least 240 credits (credits / ECTS points) in total. The required credits are normally achieved with a Magister, diploma or Master’s degree.
- In many cases, a Bachelor’s or comparable degree corresponds to only 180 or 210 ECTS points. Relevant professional experience may be regarded as evidence that you have achieved the credits required. Our student support advisers will be happy to help you in this regard.
At least one year postgraduate professional experience in a pertinent field following a first degree in a relevant subject.
- Part-time professional experience is calculated and recognised pro rata.
This means, for example: If you have worked in a part-time post for a year, half a year is counted as professional experience.
- Whether you have gained professional experience in one post or have changed positions is irrelevant for the calculation.
Proficiency in English
In order to enrol on the Master’s degree course at Quadriga University of Applied Sciences in Berlin you need to provide evidence of your English language skills at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. There are different ways to provide this:
- During the assessment process, we offer a free English test.
- If the English language is part of your everyday working life, please contact our programme director to discuss the requirements for proof by the employer.
- If you already have a certificate of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate, etc.), which is not older than two years, this can also be recognised.
Proficiency in German
- Citizens of any non-German-speaking country applying for a German-speaking course should be proficient in German (equivalent to level C1). A DSH 2 certificate (German language proficiency test for university admission) or a degree from a German-speaking course at a recognised German university is normally considered sufficient evidence.

Structure
The MBA Leadership specialisation in Digital Business Transformation is a part-time study programme and consists of on-campus and self-study phases. The MBA at the Quadriga University of Applied Sciences in Berlin is therefore an in-depth distance learning course in the field of digitalisation.
On-Campus Study Sessions
The Quadriga Campus in Berlin is the centre of the study sessions, which take place once a month, generally from Thursday to Sunday. Seminars, practical sessions and group discussions are supported by contributions from international business players and a large network. Joint, interactive learning through discussion provides students with an interdisciplinary perspective. In addition, longer study sessions are anchored in the study programme, during which students spending five to seven days in Berlin. These somewhat longer study sessions are intended to integrate practical sessions and group projects to better prepare students for the demands of the market. An integral part of the courses of study at Quadriga University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, including the master’s degree specialisation Digital Business Transformation, is a one-week field trip.
Independent Study
Broad parts of the knowledge imparted are developed in directed self-study. It is therefore possible to undertake the master’s degree in digitalisation at the Quadriga University of Applied Sciences whilst being employed. The required study material is available to students online. Consequently, digital learning content on topics such as accounting, finance, law or digital strategy can be accessed at any time.
Family and career
The MBA programme at Quadriga University of Applied Sciences in Berlin is also an interesting study model for students with families. The high proportion of independent study allows students to combine their family life, study and career. The small group sizes means that the teaching staff can meet the individual needs of students with family obligations. On-campus study sessions are bundled and pre-planned, allowing students to arrange childcare well in advance.
MBA criteria
The EQUAL criteria are regarded as the standard for teaching. Overarching economic topics – such as economics, finance, marketing and strategy – are integrated in the teaching. The teaching of wide-ranging management skills is also a central component of the MBA specialisation Digital Business Transformation. Graduates of the MBA can negotiate and impress in the business area in a target-oriented way. In addition, they have the leadership skills required by the EQUAL criteria.
